Peer Pressure

Their stares were meant
To suffocate me until I gave in.

I was what they hated.

It didn’t matter to me that I wouldn’t fit in or be a part of their game.

I was too busy finding my own way.
I wanted to be happy, not succumb to money or fame.

My life was destined to be more than a facade.

They hated me because they hate themselves for giving in to society.

I continued to grow and found myself, while they lived a life for everyone else.
